Spoil your partner this Valentine’s Day

With the frustrations of lockdown life now lifted, there’s no excuse for you and your significant other not to make a fuss this Valentine’s Day. Here are four experiences in the North, South, East and West that will be sure to make you swoon. You’ll both feel like you’re in ‘Lady and the Tramp’.

So go on, make an effort this year. St. Valentine was not the patron saint of buying flowers from the petrol station after all!

Truth Wine & Tapas Bar (North)

Ramsey’s Truth bar will be serving a set menu for Valentine’s Day at £24.95 per person. Featuring a buffet style of delights to share including sirloin steak, charcuterie, cheeses, fish options and the unctuous sounding pork fillet with smokey chorizo, there’s plenty to tuck into. Not to mention a glass of Prosecco to get the party started!

Foraging Vintners (South)

The self-proclaimed ‘Anti-Valentine’s’ is a post-lockdown celebration with a strict policy of no cheesy love music allowed. There will be music from DJ Christian Clague, a Fire / Glow performance with Spinnin Vannin and discounted cocktails. Valentine’s with a party twist!

The Tea Junction (East)

The quaint and cute feel of Douglas’ Tea Junction is the perfect setting for a romantic evening. Taking place on Saturday 13th February, you can celebrate Valentine’s a day early! The menu of classy delights ranges from Beef fillet with a mushroom & stout jus to their renowned Cherry & Almond Frangipane slice.

Close Leece Farm (West)

Close Leece Farm are holding a very special 6 course, fine-dining tasting menu. The event is £60 per head and takes place on Friday 12th, Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th February. Chef Richard Johnson has devised some spectacular sounding dishes such as ‘Steamy Chocolate Lovers’ — a giant dark chocolate ball filled with white & dark chocolate semifreddo, meringue kisses and cherry jelly. Sounds delicious!
